Christmas Prayer

Lord, in this holy season of prayer and song and laughter, we praise you for the great wonders you have sent us: for shining star and angel’s song, for infant’s cry in lowly manger. We praise you for the Word made flesh in a little Child. We behold his glory, and are bathed in its radiance.

Be with us as we sing the ironies of Christmas, the incomprehensible comprehended, the poetry made hard fact, the helpless Babe who cracks the world asunder. We kneel before you shepherds, innkeepers, wisemen. Help us to rise bigger than we are. Amen.

Further insights into Christmas Prayer

The Christmas Prayer is a Catholic prayer that is recited during the Advent and Christmas season, expressing gratitude for the gift of God’s Son and seeking His blessings and guidance in life.

The origins of this prayer can be traced back to the early days of Christianity, when the birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated as a momentous event, marking the arrival of the Savior and Redeemer of humanity.

Over time, specific prayer traditions and rituals developed around the theme of Advent and Christmas, including the recitation of various prayers and hymns expressing thanksgiving and joy for the gift of Christ.

Today, the Christmas Prayer remains an important part of the Church’s liturgical and devotional practice during the Advent and Christmas season, providing a means of expressing gratitude and seeking God’s blessings during this time of spiritual reflection and renewal.

The prayer is often recited in formal religious settings, such as during the celebration of Christmas Mass, as well as in private devotion by individuals and families seeking to deepen their spiritual connection to God and honor the sacredness of the Christmas season.

Ultimately, the Christmas Prayer serves as a powerful reminder of the true meaning and significance of Christmas, inspiring believers to recognize the divine presence and purpose of Christ in their lives and seek His guidance and blessings in all aspects of life.

I must say you have done a excellent job with this. Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox. Superb Blog!
